Teneo Learning Philosophy
Teneo was designed under the philosophy of providing custom learning solutions using a simple interface and track a user’s progress as they move through custom learning plans. As business changes, the traditional software learning system does not provide the flexibility, both in the time needed and the content presented, to ensure the best chance for success when learning new software.
In a traditional classroom setting, users are forced to learn only what is presented in the book provided, as well as forced to learn at the pace of the rest of the class. If a user is above the skill level of other users in the class, they may find themselves bored and not getting the necessary skills needed to excel in their job. If the user is less experienced than the other class members, they find themselves falling behind and not able to gain the knowledge needed to perform even the most basic functions in a specific application.
Another problem encountered in a traditional classroom environment is time. Depending on the class location and content, users may be expected to miss anywhere from one to several days of work. This means you may need to find people to take over the responsibilities of those users, or that they may need to get caught up when returning to work. In this case the user may be too busy to practice the skills learned in class while the content is still fresh in their minds.
Teneo addresses all of these concerns by presenting training content in small clips. This ensures users can go through the content when they have time in between performing job tasks, on break, or even at home after business hours. In addition, users can pause, rewind, or even replay videos as needed to learn the skills presented at their learning pace.
Once a user has watched all the videos in a specific section, they can take a skills assessment test to ensure that they comprehend and know how to use the skills presented in the video.
Another advantage to Teneo is that users can access videos at any time. Since not all of the users will use the skills presented in the videos every day, they may find themselves needing to accomplish a task later and not knowing where to start. If it has been a month since the initial training and they now need to perform one of the tasks presented in a class, they can access that video again to ensure they can accomplish it correctly.
As you can see, by changing the way that software training is presented to users, Teneo can dramatically reduce the cost associated with employee training, as well as enhance the effectiveness of the content presented in training courses.
